President: Ben “The Fish Guy” Weber
Hello, my name is Ben Weber and I am president of the Messiah Fly Fishing Club. I am a sophomore from Buffalo, New York. My major is biology with an ecological concentration. Apart from just fly fishing I love the outdoor activities of hiking and camping as well. I started this club in the effort to allow people the opportunity to get more in touch with creation through fly fishing. That is in fact, why I love the sport so much, as it gives me an acute awareness of the beauty and the environment around me. I am part of this club to teach others about the sport, but also to learn from others in the ways that they appreciate nature and interact within that. While fly fishing is known as a sport of solitude, it is the people and interactions that keep bringing me back.
Vice President: Eric Faught
My name is Eric Faught. I’m a nursing major and VP of Messiah Fly Fishing Club. I’m involved with the Messiah Fly Fishing Club because I have a passion for fly fishing and I love to be in God’s creation. I love going fishing to see the beauty that lies beneath the water. Also, I love taking other people into the outdoors and helping them experience the same thing I do when I catch a fish. I’m from Northern Cambria, PA which is a small town in South Western PA, about 5 minutes from the start of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. I grew up fishing for wild brown trout in the Susquehanna and that’s where I still dial in my techniques or new fly patterns I want to try.
Events Coordinator: Hunter Bellows
Exercise Science- looking to go to OT school. Why am I part of the club: I love getting outside, hiking, climbing, hunting, and of course fishing. I’ve always been more of a saltwater offshore fishermen but I love to fish backwoods lakes and ponds. I have just recently got into fly fishing but have fallen in love with it, I prefer fishing for small-mouth but also love fishing for trout. I want to get more people outside and fishing through the club, and get our community involved in environmental conservation.

Madison Scialanca, sophomore, biology major. Despite never fly fishing a day in my life, my biggest connection to the club is that I love being outside and I love taking pictures, so when I have the opportunity to do both in the same capacity, I’m there.
